Will 'Freakier Friday,' Too, Be About Trauwma?
“It’s a love letter to mommies. And daughters. And families.”
When asked about Freakier Friday, the much-anticipated sequel to 2003’s Freaky Friday with Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis, both stars were particularly cagey — “Are you two switching bodies again?” “We’re not telling you!” — but Curtis did say this:
“It’s a love letter to mommies. And daughters. And families. It is what we are learning. It’s mothers and their children. This is a love letter to them. To just being mothers. And the beauty of it all.”
[Very Whoopi Goldberg responding to Meghan McCain on The View voice] Okay…
This immediately made me think of this Reddit thread regarding RuPaul’s Drag Race:
But just how freakier a Friday lies ahead? Especially when considering the “freaky” of our source material? And can positioning the film as something more than pure, innocent fun ultimately be a deterrent?
